Youtube is merely a hosting site. On their site they explain what formats they support. I render my stuff in .avi because If i remember correctly, thats the
best format youtube supports. Unless you can render a high quality flash.
Youtube converts your films to .flv or flash which is why theres normally a quality reduction but lately they've solved that problem with the ability to toggle HQ Not really much to know except .wmv videos will upload int he worse quality possible |

Best quality for YouTube is 640x480 MP4 compression.
