Nicky Li did a good job with Invisible Target and a few other recent films, hopefully he can handle this type of project.

Nic Tse is too skinny and girly to be a credible action star for all he tries. If I wanted to watch a puny, powerless boy-man I'd look in the mirror.

I disagree. I don't think you can fairly say that "skinniness" affects performance in action movies, when it's all really just the illusion
of power. Bruce Lee was skinny. Yuen Biao was skinny (haha). Wu Jing is skinny. Yuen Wah is exceptionally skinny. Sure, he's a very pretty man, but looks
don't, or shouldn't, have much of an impact on how action stars are critiqued unless you're just jealous. I think Tse has come a long way and
definitely has what it takes to be a leading next-gen HK action star. The main reason he doesn't look as powerful as other guys is simply because his
technique isn't perfect yet and thus he sometimes undersells.

but dragonfighter all those you have mentioned although are skinnny most of them looked convincing in their fights that hasnt always been the case of nicholas
he is up and down, he looked convincing in invisible target and dragon tiger gate and that big shot series but then looked all skinny and girly in new police
story and that wing chun series, to be fair he hasnt the background but he is promising but my problem is ive seen to many movies im using to a certain
standard of screen fighter, i just hope nicholas tse and prove me wrong as we need more talent coming in.

screw skinnies! Aaron Kwok knows how to hold it down.

Yeah, like I said, the main problem is just his technique and getting him more and more used to action films. But he's definitely showed that he's got
the willingness and athleticism necessary to perform some insane stunts, and I'd take him over Daniel Wu or Stephen Fung or even Wu Jing any day of the
week.

Haha I know I know... Wu Jing is really skilled, but I don't think he has the kind of charisma or screen-presence that Nic has. Or even (ironically) the
variability of roles. Wu Jing is the better fighter, but Tse is the better leading man. Which isn't a bad thing, because we don't have to choose
between the two.

I actually agree with DragonFighterX, Wu Jing is very talented but he is even below Yuen Biao in charisma.
Bruce and Jackie have it, Wu Jing does not!

Wu Jing oozed alot of charisma in SPL and even stole the show from an action standpoint (I'd say this craps all over everything Nic has done in
action movies). He just needs to find a suitable team to upgrade his talents. As of late he's been working with average teams. He and Nicky Li might form
one suitable for him but who knows, lets see what happens.

Hmmm his best performance was in SPL but in movies such as Fatal Contact and Tai Chi 2, where he is the lead character, he lacks something that you need as the
lead!

Right, he just feels kind of... generic. Especially in films like Fatal Contact and Invisible Target. His character in the latter was so cliche that it's
almost laughable, and while Nic Tse's Chan Chun wasn't really the most original character ever, it was at least easier to cheer for him and get behind
him in the fights. Dragon Tiger Gate, too. I thought Tiger Wong and Turbo Shek were the most interesting characters is the film even over Donnie's Dragon,
and Donnie is pretty charismatic (sometimes).
Also, I think it's going to be difficult for Wu Jing not to become "the next Jet Li." The way he moves and even to an extent his look and voice and image in general are so similar, maybe that's why I haven't been just hugely impressed with him yet. |

Yeah, you kind of get the feeling that Wu Jing offers very little new. We've seen it all before kind of thing.
But having said that I do still like him because he's one of the most, if not the most, talented HK on-screen fighers at the moment, and we need as many as we can find!

I think Wu Jing has enough charisma to be the lead in movies. His only problem is he is still looking for the right movie and character to play, he has had his
ups and downs with characters. Mean he stole the show in SPL not only with the action but also with his character.
He was also a great bad guy in Invisible Target, the perfect nemesis for Nic Tse. I do think Wu Jing best roles are when he is the bad guy. Tai Chi 2 he was a likable character, this was the first time i saw him in action and this made me an instead fan of him, he had great skills but also looked like a likable guy. Same goes for New Zu, he was the only good thing in that crappy movie. His problem in his other movies was that his character were just boring, in Fatal Contact he is not funny and for no reason he is serious all the time and in Twins Mission his character was also just boring. Same goes for Fatal Move there he was just over acting as a bad guy. So i hope that his new movie will change all that. But i do have to say that he and Nic Tse are really the only 2 people of the new generation of action stars who i care about from the HK scene! |

Mean he stole the show in SPL not only with the action but also with his character. Action I'd agree with but not in terms of character development. He plays a typical cold type with no background and no clear logics. the movie belongs to either Sammo or Simon Yam. |

Sammo is also great in the movie, no doubt about that, didn't care about Simon Yam nothing new here.
But i have to say Wu Jing sold his part, with out having almost no lines. Thats why i liked his character; the cold silent type. But it's a hard decision because Sammo also steals the show. |

Donnie Yen stole the show for me, Simon Yam played a role i've seen him play countless times before.
