Lately, I feel like my impact rolls have gotten worse. A few days ago I was playing around at my old high school and I did a jump from the top of an electrical-equipment type small building's roof. Now, this wasn't a small jump--the roof was about 12 feet high and I was moving close to full speed before takeoff, but it's not the highest I've ever jumped off, yet I still was surprised at how rough my landing felt. I feel like when I roll, I'm landing on my feet and then kind of... bouncing off into the shoulder roll. And it's putting too much strain on my knees and feet. I was wondering how you guys do your shoulder rolls. Most that I've seen (David Belle) included sort of bounce or bound off the feet into the roll, but I've seen some people sort of collapse into the roll. I'm looking for whatever method is least shocking to the joints and bones.
