But hey y'all, this 30 second fight scene clip is not ment to reveal an entire book (or script). Also Micah (nice to meet you), tints of backlights and sidelights were exactly what I intended to do with the movie lighting if I was able to book them, it would have looked sweeet. Thx for the insight buddy. P.S: those who think this shit is dark? are y'all seriously talking about the "brighter" version? Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	thanks for the lecture on ethics, please pardon my shorthand for "protagonist" and "antagonist" or rather, the point of view on which the fight is predicated. I have no doubt that you understand drama and emotions, as the fighters are also good actors and I'm sure that's no coincidence; but I do think just on a pure mechanical level - a few lingering shots and subtle change in angles can highlight the drama.

I mean even if they did have bright lights but you couldn't use them (as you said all you had to use were the disco lights) its always best to use some type of backlight or worklight to get light in there and then just color correct in post or something. Just wonderin why it wasnt brought in is all. In terms of the performance and choreo, thats always pretty well done, though I did see a jump cut in editing around the 1:03 mark? when you do that tracking shot going in a circle, it jumps from one motion to the end suddenly. Just caught my eye. But yea, your guys obviously know how to choreo and perform and its really well done but I do agree with Pete, even though this is a fight teaser and thats the main emphasis, but who is the main character? It has nothing to do with him being a good or bad guy or anti hero or having both traits or whatever, but who is the protagonist I guess is what Pete and Eric and even myself are wondering? Yes the fight makes me want to see more, but this is obviously just more than fighting right? So even though they perform exceptionally well and its engaging, automatically I wonder, who is who then? Perhaps I'm looking too into it myself, as it is a teaser, but thats all I guess. I ain't saying you DONT have a protagonist, I'm just feeling like this teaser could just be more engaging if it was clear who was who for that brief moment. Either way, good job, fix that lighting in post or reshoot if possible, and yes, we shall be in Toronto for TIFF as we'll be seeing The Good, The Bad, and The Weird. Good luck with everything else! Definately look forward to the final video. I saw you use the pole for your drop kick and fight around the pole. If you were thinking of reshooting the scene again due to the low light, i would love to see more things u can do with that wooden pole / column. Will definately be interesting. Keep it up!! "who is the main character?" - yes I'm glad I'm getting other opinions and point of views in this forum because as a director and writer there are some things that do come automatically unnoticed (since I know all the info already). I guess the next clip I post (probably not soon, a real teaser I hope) will reveal the protagonist (and part of the story) next time and there will be a lot less vital questions from the audience. Well EVOL is a 30 minute project and we hope to get it done in the next couple of months to really start things off with Ottawa Action Team on the public level.
