I've never read The Watchmen, but I'm aware it's one of those things that fans will go apeshit over if it turns out to suck, and especially Alan
Moore who wants nothing to do with the film industry anymore. Is this going to be a 1 to 1 type copy in the form of Sin City and 300? Zack Snyder's shown
himself to be a somewhat competent director, so I guess that's something.

I can tell you every scene from the trailer is from an iconic moment of the comic, and not necessarily geared to pique the interest of general audiences. So at
least the marketing department is aiming to please the fans. The production design appears 100% faithful, right down to the main story arc occuring during the
80s. Everything else, who knows?

Haha, I just noticed one of the writers is Solid Snake aka David Hayter, star of Guyver: Dark Hero and writer of X-Men and X-2.

Gotta say, I don't understand the hype around this one. I really didn't know anything about it before I saw the trailer but then I read up a bit and it
really doesn't sound very interesting. Plus the trailer was pretty boring. Some cool costumes/effects but that's about it.

Yep, the trailer was geared 100% towards people who have already read the books. More inclusive marketing schemes will follow i'm sure.
