These all look exactly the same. Armor, hundreds of extras in costume. Shots of hundreds of extras in armor. And, wait for
it.................................the typical cgi arrows shots. Every single time I see yet another movie do it, I instantly flash back to Gladiator without
fail. Eh.
They all look good but the same, with nothing new to bring with each one that comes out.

Not only are all this movies the same and boring, this ones feels the needs to come out in two parts ( part 1 is the talking part) and part 2 the action aint
that fun or what.

How else are they to work a modern Three Kingdoms adaptation, though? In sense to realistically portray a sense of scale, drama and characters? I assume
he's gonna keep particularly fantastical fare out of it; can you imagine if Woo bust out a contemporary Weird Man update? Nope...

and it's the same 12 actors in all of them.
same music. it's because hong kong directors, even big-shots like John Woo, just aren't experienced with directing mega epics like this one. Not very many people are able to direct movies with 1000s of extras competently, let alone add their own personal touches. I think Peter Chan said in Warlords, even feeding them lunch is a logistical nightmare, nevermind directing each and everyone of them. but this one is focused on the military strategy it seems, over the battles themselves. lets just hope it's not the same boring thing. actually it's probably gonna be. you probably aren't gonna get a director who geeks out and actually does his research. you'll just get the usual broad strokes - we'll flip the shields to blind our enemies! That type of thing. Yeah I don't know. Epics are never that good. I liked Warlords and I loved Seven Swords, but again, I'm not holding my breath.
